Content is king, even on the Web

Gerry McGovern is a web guru with a unique perspective -- content matters. How refreshing. I'm usually loathsome of Web fundamentals that are blindly applied to onscreen Help because Web design has evolved to eye candy over usability, and flash (no pun intended) over information. But the intersection of usable content is where the Web and Help meet. I'm hopeful that more Web designers will discover the the long-standing, and hard-earned principles that are already familiar to instructional designers. Such basics as understanding the needs of your readers, having solid, edited writing, and caring about how customers will find and use the information.
