Eliminating documentation is green?

I recently purchased a GoPro HD Hero Camera. On the packaging for the camera's mounting hardware it says that the manual for using the hardware is only available online. That's not unusual these days, but I was interested to see a new rationale: not proving documentation is "green."

A big, thick printed manual isn't the most environmentally conscious choice in today's socio-political climate. (But nobody is writing those anymore.) But there is, certainly, a packaging reduction when you eliminate any type of insert. Curious to see just how pieces of paper GoPro is saving per unit, I went to the URL to view the missing manual. Alas, there's no sign of it on their site. Perhaps not bothering to do it all counts as "green," too.
