While it's not end-user documentation, the Enchanted Office comic raises a lot of interesting questions. Setting aside the obvious one about whether or not this is effective marketing, consider how engaging this approach is for telling users about a UI element. Go ahead and read the whole comic, then by contrast, read this overview that contains nearly the same information about the Ribbon. Which makes you more interested in using the new feature? What of this can you apply to user documentation?
