Novices hurt more than themselves

An article in the New York Times suggests that savvy computer users are growing weary of novices, particularly when their ignorance results in the propagation of a virus or worm. This is an interesting turn of events, and suggests that helping computer users advance their skills is not only good for business, but good for society and technology in general. Perhaps technical writers could use bolster their worth by focusing on this pragmatic, and altruistic, affect of their work.
