Dilbert on marketing and Help

Most technical writers cringe when marketing interests heavily influence their instructional material. Even more so than legal concerns, a marketing slant to documentation can undermine instructional and usability interests. Walking the tight rope between hype, help, and legal neutrality is a daily journey in some companies. The Feb 9, 2003 Dilbert cartoon illustrates a plausible scenario taken too far.
